Ran out of fuel on E311 – is emergency delivery actually a thing here?

Okay so I have to admit something pretty embarrassing – I completely misjudged my fuel gauge this morning and ended up coasting onto the hard shoulder of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road with the needle buried below empty. My own fault entirely, I was running late for a meeting in Abu Dhabi and thought I could make it to the next petrol station, but yeah, that didn't happen. Sat there for about twenty minutes feeling like an absolute idiot while cars whizzed past, and honestly I had no idea what to do besides calling my insurance company who said they could send someone but it would take over an hour. That's when a truck driver pulled over and told me about these services that actually bring fuel directly to you on the highway, which I genuinely didn't know existed until that moment. Has anyone here actually used one of these emergency fuel delivery services before? I'm curious how much they charge compared to regular petrol prices and whether they only deliver in certain areas or if they'll come out to remote spots too. The guy who helped me mentioned something about a minimum delivery amount but I wasn't sure if that was accurate or just his experience with one specific company. I ended up getting rescued by a colleague who happened to be passing by with a jerry can, but I'd really like to have a backup plan saved in my phone for next time because knowing my luck this won't be the last time I push my luck with the fuel light. I've seen a few vans around with fuel tanks in the back but never thought much about it until now. If anyone has used this kind of service, please share how it went – was the response time decent, did they accept card payment, and most importantly did they bring the right type of fuel because I drive a diesel and that's always a worry. I actually came across dubaicarbattery.ae/emergency-fuel-delivery/ while searching on my phone from the shoulder but I was too stressed to properly read through everything at the time, so I'd rather hear from real people who've been through this and can tell me if it's worth keeping their number handy.
